Our Verdict

The Bambino Mio Miosolo is a one-size, all-in-one (AIO) diaper that fits babies 8+ lbs and up. There's much to love about this favorite cloth diaper, and you can tell that Bambino Mio thoughtfully created it. It has an eye-catching absorbency performance, its Velcro closure system makes it function more like a disposable diaper, and it's got a few extras up its sleeve. Although it's considered an all-in-one, it's more like a pocket diaper, as you need to stuff the semi-attached insert. It also may fit older babies better than younger or more petite ones. But we were impressed by this diaper, and if you prefer Velcro closures, we think it's one to consider for your diapering regime.

Not often will a cloth diaper spark excitement, but the Bambino Mio made us “oo” and “ah” with bells and whistles others don't offer. The manufacturer says that every part of the Misolo is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

We appreciate the hand pocket that helps guide and slide the insert into the cover. Although a minor feature, it makes the stuffing task easier, smooth, and quick. To sweeten the job of removing the insert, the insert has two cloth tabs that you can pull to help remove it.

The Velcro closure system is easy and quick to use, which may come in handy if you have a wiggly baby. It allows for a wide range of waist adjustability and makes the Miosolo function more like a disposable diaper. The hook and loop closure feels solid and secure. While it's not foolproof and may not withstand a determined toddler (although snaps may not either), it's nice to see quality Velcro right off the bat.

We noticed Miosolo's gussets are more prominent and will likely help contain leaks and messes. Overall, this diaper is remarkably soft, but more importantly, it's absorbent, making it an ideal choice for heavy wetters.

Absorbency

The Bambino Mio Miosolo delivered a top-notch absorbency performance, allowing it to join an elite group of excellent absorbers.

Preparation is critical to performance, and you'll want to prewash the diaper following the manufacturer's guidance before use, which increases its absorbency. And, like most cloth diapers, the more you wash them, the more absorbent they become. We experienced this with the Bambino Mio Miosolo as multiple launderings (roughly three times) made a night and day difference in absorbency.

The outer fabric (shell) is 100% polyester laminated to polyurethane, and the interior is 100% polyester. The insert is a blend of mostly polyester and some nylon, and a stay-dry layer keeps wetness away from your baby's skin.

Dislikes

Typically Velcro is not known for long-term durability. It can snag or collect fibers over time, and repetitive use can decrease its strength. However, if you take good care of it, we think the hook and loop closure on the Miosolo could last until potty training. Take advantage of the laundering tabs on the diaper's wings (next to the closure), which will help protect the Velcro's integrity if utilized. While remembering to fold the tabs before tossing the diaper into the diaper pail or washer will require extra thought, we think it's a habit you'll quickly embrace.

The Miosolo is an all-in-one diaper, and although it comes with everything you need, you'll still need to stuff the semi-attached insert before each use. While some parents don't mind the task of stuffing, others do not. However, a semi-attached insert means you're not searching for inserts. It's connected and ready to go. After washing, the semi-attached insert may take longer to air dry, depending on your ambient environment. Bambino Mio mentions that it can be tumble-dried on a cold/low setting; however, we prefer line-drying cloth diapers to preserve a product's quality and, thus, longevity. If time allows, we suggest doing so.

The Miosolo is wider than some in the crotch, and we noticed some space around our little tester's legs, who was six months old and 15 lbs while testing. A snug fit around the legs helps reduce the chance of leaks, and thankfully by slightly angling the Velcro closure tabs down, we could achieve a good fit around the legs. But, considering the crotch width and larger leg area, we think younger or more petite babies may need to grow into this diaper.

Should You Buy the Bambino Mio Miosolo?

If you're on team Velcro, consider the Miosolo. This option from our best cloth diaper review has noticeable quality, and while the price is high, we think its convenience is something many parents will enjoy. If you take care of the Velcro, it might last until potty training.

What Other Cloth Diapers Should You Consider?

The Rumparooz Pocket is an alternative compelling competitor. It's a high-scoring pocket diaper that holds a podium spot in the cloth diaper review. If you're looking for a more economical diapering solution, consider the Flip with Stay Dry Insert, which performs above average across all the metrics and is cheaper than the Miosolo.
