Bottom Line | A minimalist design with something extra that has a good adjustability range and fit most mattresses without a problem | Budget-friendly crib with a minimalist look and platform height for standing toddlers, but the height range is smaller, and the convertible parts are not included | A larger opening leaves bigger gaps with mattresses, but it is easy to set up and has a deep platform setting for toddlers | While some mattresses were not a great fit, we still love the simple design and lower stature that could be good for petite parents | A disappointing crib with flaking paint and loose fittings after a relatively short testing time |

Our Analysis and Test Results
Storkcraft has been around since 1945, they are a family company dedicated to bringing innovative and safer products to the market.
Performance Comparison
Mattress Fit
While the outside of the crib is one of the biggest in the group, measuring 58" x 29.5", it has a fairly standard-sized mattress opening.
In our tests, all mattresses easily fit inside the crib. With the mattress pushed all the way to one end and one side, there was less than a 0.5-inch gap or smaller.
It has what we call the Goldilocks fit, where it is snug enough to be safe but with enough gaps to make changing bed sheets fairly easy.
Eco-health
The Equinox scored above average for eco-health.
While there isn't much going on here, it is Greengaurd Gold certified and has a metal mesh mattress platform, which is our preference over MDF.
The listed materials are pinewood, poplar dowels, and wood composites. The Greengaurd Gold certification means lower emissions and potentially healthier air in the nursery.
Adjustability
The Equinox earned a higher-than-average score for adjustability.
This crib has four height options with an adjustment range of 10.8 inches, from 19 to 8.2 inches from the ground. The wider range means a potentially longer life as your child grows taller and more mobile.
While it is a convertible crib, it doesn't come with the components required to convert it to a toddler bed, and you'll need to make additional purchases.
It isn't a deal breaker in our minds, as most folks, in our experience, do not convert their crib to other products.
Ease of Assembly
The Equinox was a relatively easy crib to assemble, with an assembly timein our tests of 33 minutes.
Our box had an open hardware box, and all of the parts were loose, but we found them all and were able to sort them without a problem. It comes with a ball-end Allen wrench for tight places, but we didn't think it was particularly useful.
There were two sets of fasteners that were similar in size, and if they had been in their rightful place, it probably wouldn't have been confusing, but given that ours were not, it took a little extra time to sort them.
Should You Buy the Storkcraft Equinox 3-in-1?
The Equinox is a Greenguard Gold-certified crib with more platform adjustability heights than most competitors. It has a simple farmhouse aesthetic with X crosses on each end and a straight bar foot for a stable design. We like this crib with a 10.8-inch platform range, but it is on the bigger side thanks to the end cap design that creates a length that could be too long for some rooms or spaces where you hope to place your crib. However, given the clear assembly instructions and mattress opening that worked well with our favorite mattresses, we think this reasonably priced choice could be a good choice for those who have the space.
What Other Baby Crib Should You Consider?
If you are less interested in a wide range of platform height options but instead hope for a different design or packaging with no styrofoam, the Babyletto Lolly 3-in-1 and the Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 are worthy of consideration. With impressive quality and attention to detail, both options are lovely to look at and easy to use. While both had different challenges during assembly, neither was so hard we wouldn't recommend it, and it is largely a one-time operation. If your budget is smaller, the Carter's by DaVinci Colby 4-in-1 was easy to assemble, is Greenguard Gold Certified, and worked well with our test mattresses for a lower price.
