The first thing that we notice when looking at the Gerber First Essentials bottle was the TINY latex nipple perched on top. It looks like it could be used as a toy for a doll and the flow is so…very…slow. We liked that this bottle didn't leak, but think the super slow flow is the compromise there.

Not much to mention. It didn't leak and doesn't contain special venting or extra pieces to worry about.
The price point is wonderfully low for a baby bottle.
Dislikes
A cheap bottle that looks and acts the part. The measures are difficult to see and did we mention that tiny latex nipple?! It's our last choice for nipple material as the rubber breaks down very quickly and must be replaced often, please refer to manufacturer's instructions. Also, we don't recommend putting latex in the dishwasher. To be fair, you can purchase silicone nipples to use with this bottle, and we'd suggest doing that.
Conclusion
We recommend looking closely at competing bottles. While the price is attractive, there are other affordable bottle options such as the

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature that don't cost that much more, yet offer a much better value. Spend a little extra and get a more substantial, latex free bottle for your little one.
